Winter Program (7 Weeks)

Starts:  Friday, January 13th

Duration:  Fridays, 7 Weeks

Location:  NTR, Big Bay Point Road

Times:  Group 1, Ages 8 to 10 - 5:30 PM; Group 2, Ages 11 to 14 - 6:30PM

Program Overview:

This (7) week program provides an opportunity for players to work on skating, stick handling, passing, and shooting skills, making use of short video clips of the skills to explain how each one is performed so that you can learn and improve successfully.  At the beginning of each week, players will receive web links to 2 hockey skill videos to study before they hit the ice each Friday so that they can come to the rink with an understanding of how to do the skills and then practice them properly on the ice.  Each Friday session will follow the following format:

• Using the iPad, review that week's featured skill videos and answer any questions (5 min. in dressing room before the ice time)
• Warm-up and forward skating stride development (5 min.)
• Skating development section (10 min.)
• Stickhandling development section (10 min.)
• Passing development section (10 min.)
• Shooting development section (10 min.)Scrimmage (5 min.)
